What to look out for

Dell credit has a spend trigger

The $1,000 portion of the Dell credit only unlocks after spending $5,000 or more on U.S. Dell purchases in the same calendar year. Businesses that do not reach that threshold receive only $150.

Welcome offer varies

The 300,000-point offer is the maximum. Your actual offer depends on your credit profile and relationship with Amex. Many applicants receive significantly fewer points.

Enrollment required on most credits

CLEAR+, Dell, ChatGPT, Adobe, Indeed, and wireless credits all require separate enrollment. They do not activate automatically.

Employee card fees add up

Adding employee cards with full premium travel perks costs $400 per card per year. No-fee employee cards are available but do not include lounge access or travel benefits.

Our take

The Business Platinum is the most loaded premium business card on the market, and for frequent-traveling business owners the math works out. The 35% points-back on Pay with Points flights and Centurion Lounge access alone justify serious consideration for anyone who flies more than a dozen times a year.

The challenge is the credits. The Dell credit requires $5,000 in Dell spend to unlock the full $1,150, and several other credits demand enrollment and category-specific purchasing. If your business spending does not naturally align with those categories, the effective value drops fast. Know which credits you will actually use before applying.
