Q2 ends June 30. If you hold the Amex Platinum, Hilton Aspire, Hilton Business, or IHG Premier card, you have credits that expire with it. Some of these are quarterly resets; others are semi-annual. Either way, unused credits are money left on the table.
We put this checklist together so you don’t have to dig through your benefits guide every quarter. Credits expiring June 30 are highlighted in the tables below. One permanent change this period: the Amex Platinum Saks credit is ending for good after this cycle. It is not coming back.

Calendar Year vs. Cardmember Year
Before you panic about the June 30 deadline, make sure you’re looking at the right type of credit.
Calendar year credits reset on a fixed date — usually December 31 or the end of a quarter (March 31, June 30, September 30). These are the ones you need to act on now if you haven’t used them.
Cardmember year credits reset on your account anniversary — the date you opened the card. Your Capital One Venture X $300 credit doesn’t expire June 30. If you opened the card in October, it resets in October. Check your anniversary date before stressing about it.
Benefits by Issuer
American Express
Amex runs the most complex credit calendar of any issuer. Several credits reset quarterly, not annually, so missing a period is a real loss. The Hilton Aspire resort credit in particular is one of the most commonly missed: it must be charged to the folio at a qualifying resort, not paid separately. If you are not sure whether a property qualifies, check our complete map of Hilton Aspire credit-eligible resorts before you book.
- Platinum: Credits for airline fees, hotel bookings, Uber, and Saks Fifth Avenue.
- Gold: Big rewards on groceries and dining with annual caps.
- Green: CLEAR membership and LoungeBuddy credits for frequent travelers.
- Business Platinum: Useful for business owners, with credits for CLEAR, Adobe, Dell Credit, and wireless bills.
- Hilton Aspire: Credits for Hilton resorts and airline fees, perfect for Hilton loyalists.

A Simple System for Staying on Top of This
We keep this simple: one recurring calendar reminder three days before each quarter closes. June 27, September 27, December 28. Three days gives you enough time to make a qualifying purchase without scrambling the night of. Before you spend, confirm what actually triggers the credit. It takes 60 seconds and saves the frustration of a credit that doesn’t post.
Our Take
The math on a high annual fee card only works if you use what you’re paying for. A $550 Hilton Aspire with two $250 resort credits used is a $50 net fee. The same card with one credit missed is a $300 net fee. The difference is a calendar reminder and 60 seconds of attention four times a year. If you want a framework for which cards are worth keeping based on credits alone, our reward credit card strategy guide walks through the math.
