World of Hyatt Credit Card

Updated June 2026 · 3 min read
Quick verdict

The best hotel card for Hyatt loyalists who want a free night every year without a premium annual fee. The annual free night at Category 1-4 properties and automatic Discoverist status make the $95 fee easy to justify for anyone who stays at Hyatt a few times a year.

Chase - Hotel card
The annual free night certificate alone justifies the $95 fee for most Hyatt guests. Paired with automatic Discoverist status and 5 qualifying night credits, this card gives occasional Hyatt guests a meaningful shortcut to elite benefits without requiring heavy hotel spend.

What to look out for

Free night is limited to Category 1-4

The anniversary certificate and the $15,000 spend certificate both cap at Category 4. Top-tier Park Hyatt, Alila, and select Andaz properties are Category 5 or above and do not qualify.

Welcome offer has two separate requirements

The first 30,000 points require $3,000 in 3 months. The second 30,000 points require earning 2x on 1x purchases up to $15,000 in the first 6 months. You must hit both thresholds separately to earn the full bonus.

9x earning requires Hyatt membership

The 9x total rate is a combination of 4x from the card and up to 5x base points from Hyatt. You must be a World of Hyatt member and book directly through Hyatt to earn the full rate.

Discoverist status does not include breakfast

Discoverist includes preferred room selection and a points bonus. Complimentary breakfast requires Globalist status, which requires 60 qualifying nights per calendar year.

Our take

The World of Hyatt card is one of the best hotel cards at the $95 price point. The annual free night at Category 1-4 properties requires no spend threshold — just keeping the card open. For anyone who stays at Hyatt a handful of times per year, that certificate alone covers the fee. The five qualifying night credits per year are a meaningful shortcut for anyone pursuing Globalist status, which unlocks complimentary breakfast, suite upgrades, and club lounge access at properties worldwide.
