We recently went through the process of applying for the Wyndham Rewards Earner Business Card from Barclays and wanted to share the full experience — from application to approval to benefits. If you’re looking to earn Wyndham Diamond status or take advantage of Vacasa bookings, this card still offers strong value, even with some recent changes. This is not the powerhouse it used to be but this card should be on your radar if you value Wyndham points.
Applying for the Card: Expect a Manual Review
We submitted the application through the official Barclays Wyndham Business Card page.
After applying, the status immediately showed as pending. This is pretty typical for business credit cards, especially if you’re applying as a sole proprietor or with a newer business.
Around Day 5 to 7, we received a letter from Barclays requesting standard business documents such as:
- Proof of business (like EIN, registration, or Schedule C)
- Proof of address
On Day 10, we followed up by calling the Barclays reconsideration line at 866-408-4064. The representative confirmed the request and explained that documents could be submitted via fax or email. We faxed it in.
On Day 12, after sending the initial documents, we called recon again. This time, we completed a quick identity verification and were transferred to a credit analyst for a full reconsideration review.
The analyst went over the submitted materials and requested one final supporting document. We faxed the additional item the next day (Day 13), and by Day 15, we received confirmation that the application had been approved.
The representatives we spoke with was very friendly and professional. Once we verified the documents and answered a few questions, the card was approved.
Our starting credit limit was $2,000. That was enough to work toward the welcome bonus and get started. Our Wyndham Rewards account was linked automatically, and Diamond status appeared within two to three days.
Wyndham Diamond Status: Automatically Applied
Once the card is approved, Diamond status is added to your Wyndham Rewards account without any extra steps. Ours showed up within 72 hours.
Diamond status includes benefits like:
- Suite upgrades
- Welcome gift at check-in
- Late checkout
- Enhanced point earning

However, the Diamond perk isn’t quite what it used to be.
Caesars Match No Longer Available
Wyndham Diamond used to be an easy gateway to Caesars Diamond, which unlocked great benefits like waived resort fees, show tickets, and free cruises through Carnival. As of 2024, the Wyndham-to-Caesars status match has ended.
That means the free cruise path via Caesars and Carnival is no longer available. For historical context, here’s a guide that covers how it used to work:

This change makes the Diamond status a little less exciting, but the card still offers value elsewhere.
Vacasa: Still a Great Use of Wyndham Points
One of the strongest current uses of Wyndham points is booking Vacasa vacation rentals. You can use 15,000 points per bedroom, per night — and that includes taxes and fees.
Many people report getting between 1.2 and 1.5 cents per point in value this way. If you travel in groups or prefer home rentals over hotels, Vacasa redemptions can be a fantastic use of the card’s rewards.
Earn Rates on the Card
The Wyndham Business Card earns:
- 8x points on Hotels by Wyndham and gas
- 5x points on marketing, advertising, and utilities
- 1x point on all other purchases
This makes it one of the best small business cards for gas and advertising categories. It’s a great fit for anyone with recurring spend in these areas.

Welcome Bonus
The card currently offers a bonus of up to 75,000 points:
- 50,000 points after spending $4,000 and paying the annual fee in the first 90 days
- 25,000 more points after spending $12,000 total in the first 12 months
That’s enough for:
- 5 nights in Vacasa rentals
- 10 nights at 7,500-point Wyndham hotels
- A full week in a 2-bedroom Vacasa if you’re strategic
Other Perks
- 15,000-point anniversary bonus each year
- 10 percent redemption discount on award bookings
- No foreign transaction fees
- Free employee cards
- Discounted member rates on Wyndham Hotels
The card also gives access to select events, like the Wyndham Championship PGA TOUR event in Greensboro, NC (July 30 – August 3, 2025).
Final Thoughts
Even though the Caesars match and cruise trick are gone, the Wyndham Business Card still has a lot to offer. It’s ideal for:
- Businesses with spend in gas, utilities, or advertising
- Travelers who want Wyndham Diamond status automatically
- People who can use Vacasa for high-value redemptions
It’s not the travel hack powerhouse it once was, but for certain users, it still delivers strong ongoing value.
