The ART Hotel is a Hilton Honors Curio Collection property located at 1201 Broadway in Denver, Colorado. We booked this stay through American Express Fine Hotels & Resorts using the Amex Platinum Card. In this review we cover the room, bathroom, amenities, dining at FIRE Restaurant & Lounge, and whether this is a good use of your Hilton Honors points.

The ART Hotel sits in Denver’s Golden Triangle neighborhood, a walkable area dense with museums, restaurants, and bars. The Denver Art Museum is directly across the street. The Clyfford Still Museum is a short walk away. Downtown Denver and 16th Street Mall are about 10 minutes on foot, and Union Station is roughly 15 minutes. If your Denver trip centers on the arts or dining scene, this is the right neighborhood to be in.

Loyalty Program and Points Value

The ART Hotel earns and redeems Hilton Honors points as a Curio Collection property. It sits in Category 4, which typically runs 40,000 to 60,000 points per night on standard award nights. Cash rates vary by season but the property is well-priced for what it delivers.

Hilton Diamond members receive complimentary breakfast and space-available upgrades. The fastest path to Diamond status is the Hilton Honors American Express Aspire Card, which confers automatic Diamond status upon card approval along with an annual Free Night Reward and up to $400 in Hilton resort credits.

Amex Fine Hotels & Resorts Benefits at The ART Hotel American Express Platinum and Centurion cardholders can book through FHR to unlock: room upgrade at check-in (subject to availability), complimentary breakfast for two daily, early check-in when available, 4PM guaranteed late checkout, complimentary Wi-Fi, $100 property credit, and a welcome amenity. Always verify current benefits before booking as these can change.

Check-In and Lobby

The lobby makes the hotel’s identity clear from the moment you arrive. A full-scale Deborah Butterfield driftwood horse sculpture stands near the entrance.

The walls are hung with rotating artwork and the check-in experience has a boutique, low-key quality that feels more gallery than corporate hotel chain.

The lounge off the main entrance is worth a few minutes on the way in or out. One wall is lined with a series of bold soup can paintings. The seating mixes red leather banquettes with white lounge chairs. All of the artwork throughout the property is labeled with artist and title, which distinguishes this from hotels that use “art” as a design buzzword without following through.

Welcome Experience and Amex FHR Perks

Our stay was booked through American Express Fine Hotels & Resorts , and the welcome experience reflected that.

The hotel left a package on the side table: a welcome envelope tied with a branded red grosgrain ribbon printed with “the ART Hotel,” two kraft-paper snack bags sealed with the hotel’s circular logo sticker, and a “Welcome to the ART Hotel” card.

The notepads on the writing tray carry the ART Hotel, Curio Collection, and Hilton Honors branding throughout.

As the FHR welcome amenity, we received a DAR Chocolate raspberry dark chocolate bar. It is 72% cacao and custom-labeled with Deborah Butterfield’s horse sculpture artwork and “ART 10 Curio Collection” branding.

It is one of the more thoughtful welcome gifts we have seen at an FHR property. The FHR letter also included breakfast voucher cards and outlined all complimentary benefits for the stay.

The Room

We stayed in a double queen room. Two platform beds share a wooden headboard with a nightstand in the center. The room is clean and contemporary with light gray walls, dark carpet, wall-mounted reading sconces, and a framed art print that rotates by artist.

The headboard sconces are a design standout, with stacked horizontal LED strips that create a polished feel at night.

The desk doubles as the TV console, with the Hilton Connected Room smart TV sitting above the mini-fridge cabinet. Netflix, Disney+, Apple TV, and Calm are all built into the TV platform along with room controls.

In-Room Mini-Bar

The mini-fridge comes stocked with four 222ml Coke cans (two Diet Coke, two regular Coca-Cola) and three branded ART Hotel water bottles. The cans are small-format rather than full size, which is worth knowing. The water bottle labels feature Deborah Butterfield’s horse sculpture artwork, tying the in-room amenity back to the lobby installation and the welcome chocolate bar.

The Bathroom

The bathroom is where the ART Hotel most clearly over-delivers for its category. The double-sink vanity runs nearly the full width of the room, topped by a large backlit mirror that spans wall to wall. The effect is bright and spa-like, which is not what you would typically find at a Category 4 Hilton property.

The backsplash is an amber-and-white marble mosaic tile that adds color without overwhelming the space. Floating dark wood shelves handle towel storage cleanly.

The tub-shower combo features marble-look tile surrounds, a rainfall showerhead, and a handheld wand in brushed nickel. The curved shower rod gives the tub more usable interior space than a straight rod. Standard rooms do not have walk-in showers, so if that is a requirement it is worth checking configurations at booking. You also get a standalone LED vanity mirror with a magnifying side, and the hair dryer is stored in a labeled black drawstring pouch.

Bath Products: Lather

The ART Hotel uses Lather throughout. Lather is a California-based modern apothecary brand founded in 1999. This is a meaningful step up from the generic miniature bottle setup common at hotels in this category. In the shower, three 12 oz pump bottles are wall-mounted: Mint Thyme Hair Wash, Bamboo Lemongrass Body Wash, and Yuzu Bergamot Creme. All bottles are sealed and labeled non-refillable.

At the sink, a brushed steel tray holds two 10 oz dispensers: Bamboo Lemongrass Hand Wash and Lavender Lime Moisturizer. The tray also includes a vanity kit and a White Grapefruit Cleansing Cloth packet. The scent profiles are well-chosen and the formulas are noticeably better than standard hotel amenities.

Outdoor Spaces

The hotel has an outdoor patio off the lobby with a sculptural fire pit. The installation is a circular fire feature with a metal fin element rising through the center that functions as a piece of public art in its own right. We visited in winter and the fire was running with snow on the ground, making it a genuinely usable outdoor space year-round. The patio overlooks Broadway and has high-top seating and lounge chairs when the weather allows.

Dining: FIRE Restaurant and Lounge

The on-site restaurant is FIRE Restaurant & Lounge, a full-service dining room with floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking Broadway, a sculptural chrome wall installation behind the bar, and a glass-enclosed wine cellar that is worth pausing at on the way in. The wine program is extensive and the bar is well-stocked.

We used the $100 Amex FHR property credit across two meals and found the food quality solid for a hotel restaurant.

The beet salad with golden and red beets, arugula, olives, pickled onion, and a creamy dressing was a standout.

The smoked salmon bagel board at breakfast is served on a wood plank with cream cheese and arugula and was equally well executed.

The burger with house-made chips is a reliable lunch option that works well for using up the property credit.

If you are a Hilton Diamond member, Hilton’s Food & Beverage credit can also apply at this property, which could stack additional value on top of any FHR or card benefits you are already bringing to the stay.

Pros and Cons

What works:

  • Lather amenities are a genuine upgrade for the Hilton category
  • Backlit double-sink bathroom vanity stands out for the price point
  • Strong Amex FHR property with the $100 credit easy to use at FIRE Restaurant
  • Art identity is consistent and well-executed throughout the property
  • Deborah Butterfield artwork ties together the lobby, water bottles, and welcome amenity
  • Outdoor fire pit patio is usable year-round, even in Denver winters
  • Walkable location steps from the Denver Art Museum
  • FIRE Restaurant & Lounge is solid and above average for hotel dining
  • Good points value at Category 4 Hilton Honors pricing

Room for improvement:

  • Double queen rooms are snug with limited floor space between the beds and walls
  • Standard rooms have a tub-shower combo rather than a walk-in shower

Our Take

The ART Hotel Denver delivers more than its Category 4 pricing suggests. The bathroom setup, Lather amenities, and consistent art programming all sit above what you would typically find at this tier of the Hilton Honors program. The location in the Golden Triangle, directly across from the Denver Art Museum, is genuinely walkable and well-suited for leisure trips.

For Amex Platinum cardholders booking through Fine Hotels & Resorts, the $100 property credit and complimentary breakfast make the value equation even stronger. The $100 credit is straightforward to use at FIRE Restaurant & Lounge, and the complimentary breakfast covers a proper sit-down meal.

If you want to maximize automatic Diamond status benefits at properties like this, the Hilton Honors American Express Aspire Card is the most direct path. For a full breakdown of how to earn and redeem points at properties like this one, see our complete guide to the Hilton Honors program.
