If you want a colorful, fun place to stay right in the heart of Atlanta, Hotel Indigo Midtown is a great choice. It’s across the street from the famous Fox Theatre and close to lots of cool spots.
The hotel is a mix of old-school charm and fresh, modern style. It opened as the very first Hotel Indigo property back in 2004, inside a 1923 brick building that originally housed Georgia Tech students. You’ll feel the lively energy of Midtown as soon as you walk in, with lots of bright colors, cozy corners, and art that celebrates the city’s musical history.
We stayed here as IHG Platinum Elite members and came away with a clear sense of who this hotel is perfect for and who it isn’t. It is part of the IHG One Rewards program, which means your stay earns points worth around 0.5 cents each toward future IHG redemptions.

Location: Right Where You Want to Be
You can’t beat the spot! Hotel Indigo is right next to the Fox Theatre and just a block from the MARTA station. You can easily get to the airport or other parts of Atlanta without a car. Plus, there are tons of places to eat, parks, and museums nearby. Piedmont Park, the BeltLine, and the High Museum of Art are all just a short stroll away.

Whether you’re in town for a concert, a game, or just to explore, you’ll love how easy it is to get around.
Verdict: Perfect if you want to be in the middle of everything.
Check-In and First Impressions
The lobby is bright, colorful, and feels like a cozy living room. There are plenty of comfy chairs and little nooks to relax. The staff was friendly and made check-in quick and easy. There’s free lemon water and coffee in the lobby, which was a nice touch after a long trip.

We came in as Platinum Elite members and got a welcome amenity credit for food and drinks at the on-site bar. The front desk mentioned it without us having to ask, which we appreciated. If you have IHG status, just ask what your benefit is at check-in. This property is good about honoring it.
We did ask for an upgrade and were told that the room is already upgraded and not other rooms are available for the night. Not a huge deal given we still had a corner room.
From the moment we walked in, it felt welcoming and relaxed, like visiting a friend’s stylish home.
Parking
Parking is available for about $50 per night. This is pretty standard for Midtown Atlanta. If you plan to explore mainly by MARTA or on foot, you might not need a car at all. You can park on the streets or one of the nearby garages. The hotel’s parking garage is connected to the hotel and very convenient, though expensive.
The Room: Small but Fun
Rooms here are small, but they’re packed with style! Ours had:
- A soft queen bed with fresh white sheets
- Wooden floors (no old carpet!)
- A colorful mural on the wall
- A little desk to work at
- A clean, modern bathroom with a walk-in shower

Storage space space is enough if you’re not unpacking for weeks. The bed was super comfy, and the bright colors made the room feel cheerful even though it was cozy-sized.

Tip: If you want a room with a view, ask for a corner room. They have more space and bigger windows!

The bathroom is genuinely small. Two people sharing the room need to take turns. The shower is clean and modern and there’s good water pressure. But if you’re traveling as a couple and expect to get ready at the same time, budget extra minutes in the morning.
The rest of the room more than makes up for it though. The hardwood floors and the music mural on the wall give it a real boutique feel. It doesn’t feel like a budget stay even though the footprint is tight.
Hotel Indigo Midtown Atlanta Amenities and Facilities
This hotel has everything you really need to have a good stay:
- Free Wi-Fi that actually worked well
- A small but clean gym with treadmills, weights, and bikes
- A lobby bar and a cozy restaurant area
- Pet-friendly rooms, so you can bring your furry friends!

There isn’t a big spa or a pool, but with so much to do in Midtown, we didn’t miss it. It’s a great setup for travelers who plan to spend most of their time out exploring.

Dining: Good Eats Nearby
The hotel’s restaurant and bar, 683 Midtown Bar and Bistro, is worth using. We had both breakfast and dinner there and came away happy both times.
Breakfast is straightforward. Eggs, biscuits, coffee, nothing too fancy but solid and fairly priced for Midtown. Dinner is where it gets a bit more fun. The cocktail menu leans into the music theme with names tied to local acts, and the food is easy and good. Not the most exciting meal you’ll have in Atlanta, but after a full day of walking around, it really hits the spot.

We used our Platinum welcome credit at the bar our first night, which made the decision to stay in an easy one. If you have a credit to burn, start there.
The real winner though is the neighborhood. Midtown has so much good food around it that you’ll never be stuck for options. But it’s nice to know 683 is there when you just don’t feel like going back out.
Service: Friendly and Helpful
Everyone we met at the hotel was super nice and quick to help. They offered advice on local places to eat, fun things to do nearby, and even which MARTA stops were best for different attractions. The vibe here is relaxed and helpful, not stuffy or scripted.

Attractions
You are right in the heart of Midtown! Nearby attractions include:
- Fox Theatre (right across the street)
- Piedmont Park (great for walks and picnics)
- High Museum of Art
- Atlanta Botanical Garden
- Georgia Tech campus
Plus, MARTA transit is one block away, making it easy to reach downtown, the airport, and Buckhead.
Our Take
Hotel Indigo Midtown Atlanta is a really fun place to stay. It’s got great energy, a killer location, and a staff that actually seems to enjoy working there.
The bathroom situation is real and you should know about it going in. If you’re traveling with someone, it’s a little tight. That’s the main trade-off for being in such a well-designed, well-located boutique hotel at a rate that usually runs $150 to $220 a night.
For IHG members, this property is worth bookmarking. The Platinum welcome amenity is handled well here, the points earn fine at the standard rate (worth about 0.5 cents each), and the location is hard to beat if you’re spending time in Midtown. We’d stay again, and if you’re planning a trip to Atlanta and want to be near the Nobu Atlanta side of the city or catching a show at the Fox, this is the move.
