Hyatt Regency Lax Location
Located less than one mile from Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). You can walk to the hotel from the terminal if you don’t have too much luggage. LAX can be really congested some days and it might take more than an hour to go a mile. If you don’t enjoy sitting in congested traffic and don’t mind walking 15-20 minutes, this is the hotel to stay in.
The hotel is also easily accessible via free airport shuttle or a short ride-share trip (expect to pay $25-30 for a 5 minute ride). The free shuttle run every 15 minutes or so, so this hotel is ideal for overnight layovers or early-morning departures.
Cost (Cash and Points/Certificates)
The hotel is Category 3 on Hyatt’s award chart. That means you can not only book it with your Chase Free Night Certificates, you won’t have to spend a huge number of points to book this hotels. Expect to spend about 12,000 World of Hyatt points.
Parking and/or Shuttle to Hyatt Regency LAX
On-site parking is available for $75 per night. Alternatively, you can use the complimentary airport shuttle, which runs every 15–20 minutes.
Here’s the catch — everything works smoothly when you’re checking in. But when checking out, be sure to plan for extra wait time. The hotel is attached to a large parking garage, and the shuttles make two stops just 20 feet apart.
The first stop, inside the garage, is meant only for employees. The second stop, outside the hotel lobby, is designated for guests. Unfortunately, there’s often confusion: guests walk to the garage stop to skip the line, drivers get frustrated, and wait times at the lobby can be long. We had to wait over 30 minutes for a shuttle with open seats.
Hyatt Regency Lax Check-in and First Impressions
Check-in at the Hyatt Regency LAX was quick and easy, even with several people ahead of us. Staff were friendly and handed out bottled water without being asked.
The lobby was large and well-designed, with clean lines, polished floors, and warm lighting.
Seating areas with modern chairs and sofas gave it a relaxed, upscale feel. It felt like a space meant for both waiting and unwinding.
Rooms at Hyatt Regency LAX
We stayed in a double queen room. The room was clean and well appointed.
Room featured two beds, work desk, lounge chair, and floor-to-ceiling windows.
The view included city lights and glimpses of airport traffic in the distance.
Despite being close to LAX, the room was quiet, clean, and comfortable.
Noise insulation was excellent, with no disturbance from planes or hallway traffic.
The bathroom was very clean and had everything you’d expect.
The cleaning products at Hyatt Regency LAX were from Hyatt Hotel Argan Oil Bath and Body Collection, which were fine, although not too luxurious.

The hotel has several amenities – an outdoor pool, fitness center, a lobby market which was self-service but monitored.
Fitness center was equipped with cardio machines and free weights but nothing too fancy.
The outdoor pool was detached from the hotel but had loungers, umbrellas, and towels.
