Our take
Citi Double Cash is a good everyday card if you are not working on a sign-up bonus or using a card with a category bonus. The 2% cashback is generous for a card with no annual fee.
The cashback posts as ThankYou points. You can redeem those at 1CPP (Cents Per Point) by applying them towards statement credit.
The sign-up bonus comes and goes and $200 is as high as we have seen before. The spending requirement is also low at $1,500 in 6 months.
The 0% APR is only for balance transfers, not new purchases. You will still pay either $5 or 3% of the amount of each transfer, whichever is greater, so this is probably not worth doing.
Finally, you can pair this card with another ThankYou reward card, such as the Citi Strata (used to be Citi Premier). This way, the points you earn can be transferred to a number of Airline Partners. The Citi Double Cash card has the added advantage of keeping your ThankYou points alive if you close your ThankYou card with an annual fee.
