Chase has introduced a new way for Ink Preferred cardmembers to get more out of their travel spending: Points Boost. Your chase points go from a fixed 1.25 CPP to a Dynamic Chart 1CPP-1.75CPP. This program potentially enhances how your points are used when booking hotels and flights through Chase Travel, offering improved redemption rates and new promotional offers.
How Points Boost Works
Chase Travel’s new system focuses on three key steps:
- Browse: Search for eligible hotels or flights using Chase Travel.
- Boost: Look for a rocket ship icon next to offers. These indicate Points Boost deals with higher value.
- Book: Redeem your points at up to 1.5x value for travel purchases.
What’s Changing?
Starting October 26, 2025, Chase will update how points are redeemed:
- New points: Redeem at a 1:1 rate if not used with a Points Boost offer (replacing the previous 1.25x baseline).
- Old points: For points earned before that date, Chase will automatically apply the better rate (either 1.25x or Points Boost).
This ensures your existing points retain value while the new system rolls out.
Points Boost Value Example
Here is a comparison showing the value of $1000 in points before and after the upcoming changes:
| Scenario | Redemption Rate | Value of $1000 in Points |
|---|---|---|
| Before Oct 26, 2025 (standard rate) | 1.25x | $1,250 |
| After Oct 26, 2025 (no Points Boost) | 1.0x | $1,000 |
| After Oct 26, 2025 (with Points Boost offer) | Up to 1.5x | $1,500 |
| Premium cabin w/ Boost | Up to 1.75x | $1,750 |
Use Points Boost promotions to maintain or exceed previous redemption value.
Rotating Offers
Offers under Points Boost will rotate. Cardmembers are encouraged to check Chase Travel regularly for the latest bonus-redemption opportunities.
Bonus: $50 Travel Credit
As a welcome gesture, new Ink Preferred cardmembers receive a $50 Chase Travel credit, valid through June 23, 2026. This credit is applied on top of your current benefits.
Our Take
Points Boost has the potential to give you more value per point. However, Chase has not disclosed how many itineraries will actually qualify for boosted rates. If few options carry the rocket icon, this change could reduce the overall value consumers get from their points compared to the previous 1.25x baseline.
