Our Take
The Atmos Ascent card is an excellent choice for Alaska Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines flyers, particularly on the West Coast. The welcome offer alone can cover multiple round-trips, and the Companion Fare more than offsets the annual fee if used each year. Free checked bags and inflight discounts sweeten the deal for families or frequent travelers.
The main downsides are the $6,000 annual spend requirement for the Companion Fare and the lack of automatic lounge access. If you want more premium perks, the Atmos Rewards Summit ($395 annual fee) may be better.
Overall, this is one of the strongest airline-specific cards for travelers who fly Alaska or Hawaiian at least once or twice per year — and its $95 annual fee is easy to justify if you use the Companion Fare and checked bag benefits.
